Colshaw Hall really sets the standard when it comes to Cheshire wedding venues.Kath & Orla had booked the whole use of the estate from make up lounge, den, pavillion, & gardens and main house. One of the first things I notice when driving up the drive is the how well kept the grounds are, they really set the standard.
BRIDAL PREP AT the bridal lodge, the make up lounge & the den.
Both ladies started their prep at the bridal lodge which is basically the size of a small house. It has bedrooms, kitchen and all the space required. I knew Kath & Orla from previous weddings so I knew they were going to be great fun and relaxed.
Next, it was a stroll the main house where there was even more space for preparations. All the girls now had the official make up room which is an incredible space to enjoy. It’s very rare that you get use of so much space.
Once hair and make up were done, Orla headed to the Den area so they could both get ready for individual reveals to their family and friends. First Kath was ready upstairs in the main house and loved capturing all the reactions of her friends at the bottom of the stairs.
Orla was in the Den with her Mum getting her dress on. The Den is conveniently located right next door to the Ceremony Room. Again, great fun to document, everyone was so relaxed.

Colshaw Hall has a dedicated ceremony room which is just so perfect, lots of space and natural light. Ian, the Toastmaster is always on hand to make sure the bridesmaids are all lined up and ready. The aisle is a perfect size for photographs. You don’t always get all that space to enjoy at wedding venues.
A WALK AROUND THE GROUNDS.
All the dressing was expertly completed Liz at Ambience with the main theme being Rock music. Dave is a huge fan and the black and red theme really worked.
The room was perfect for me to work around and document all the joy and emotion .
TIME TO CELEBRATE.
We then headed to the Peel Suite, a huge function suite. Ian the toastmaster welcomed the newly weds in to a big cheer from guests and family and really got the atmosphere going.
I love photographing speeches, especially in such a big space as this. I get to really walk around the outside without disturbing anyone at all.
The final surprise was the brilliant firework display, so well organised by Colshaw Hall.
The Band really got the party started and with so much space in the function suite, I was able to freely move around.
